School Teacher Training Program
• Elementary education course
The elementary education course curriculum is oriented towards enabling students to obtain an Elementary School Teaching Certificate, and students study the basic subjects required for teachers, as well as the individual subjects taught at elementary school level. Starting from the second year of the course, students specialize in the field in which they wish to write their graduation thesis (either pedagogy or psychology), and the specific subject(s) that they intend to teach in the future (Japanese, social studies, English, mathematics, science, technology, and home economics).
• Secondary education course
The secondary education course curriculum is oriented towards enabling students to obtain a Secondary School Teaching Certificate, and students study the basic subjects required for teachers, as well as the individual subjects taught at secondary school level. Students undertake in-depth study of the specific subjects that they intend to teach in the future (Japanese, social studies, English, mathematics, physics, technology and home economics), and also undertake research for their graduation thesis.
• Practical skills elementary education and secondary education course
The practical skills elementary education and secondary education course is divided into elementary education and secondary education sections for the particular subjects being studied (music, art, and health and physical education) starting from the second semester of the first year. Students undertake in-depth study of the specific subjects that they intend to teach in the future, and also undertake research for their graduation thesis.
