English Education

Language is a window onto the mentality and culture of the people that use it. In order to cultivate people who can function successfully in the internationalized society of the future, it is vitally important to teach people how to approach language from different perspectives. The aim of the English class is to get students reading a wide range of English-language poetry and essays, so as to enhance their ability to use language imaginatively, cultivate ethical sensitivity, and foster a deeper understanding of different cultures and peoples. Students are also encouraged to undertake periods of overseas study.
