Curriculum Policy

So as to cultivate talented individuals who possess the capabilities specified in the Graduate School’s degree conferment policy, the Graduate School of Education has formulated, and implements, a systematic curriculum, based on the principles outlined below:
1. We provide a systematic education to cultivate high-level, expert professionals who possess the in-depth academic knowledge and outstanding capabilities required in order to fulfil a teacher’s professional responsibilities, and who also possess a sense of responsibility and strong ethical awareness.
2. We provide an education aimed at cultivating teachers who, in the future, will be capable of playing a supervisory role in their schools.
3. We formulate a systematic, interdisciplinary curriculum that will enable students to realize a high level of observational ability and communication skills.
4. We formulate a curriculum that organically integrates all taught classes with individual teaching practice, collaborating with outside organizations to realize teaching practice that reflects local conditions.
5. We provide classes that are focused on the teaching practice experience, with required classes and elective classes that, rather than focusing on the problems experienced by individual teachers, emphasize identifying, and exploring strategies to solve, the issues faced in the classroom in general, with an emphasis on schools in Kagoshima Prefecture.
